Heather's Green Bean Casserole









Total prep time: 50 minutes

Serves: 6


Ingredients

1 pound bacon

1 small onion diced

1 cup mushrooms sliced

2 cups fresh green beans

1 (10 oz) can cream of mushroom soup or homemade cream of mushroom soup

1 can French fried onion rings

1/4 tsp salt

1/4 tsp black pepper

1/4 tsp garlic powder

2 cups grated cheddar cheese


Directions

Preheat oven to 350 degrees

Cook bacon in a large skillet

Once bacon is crispy, remove from skillet and set aside

Add diced onion and mushrooms to skillet with bacon grease

Saute for 5-7 minutes until onions and mushrooms are soft

Add green beans to skillet and cook for an additional 5 minutes

Stir in cream of mushroom soup, salt, pepper, garlic powder and 1 cup of cheese to the skillet mixture

Remove skillet from heat

Cut bacon in to pieces

Add half the fried onions and half the bacon to the mixture

Place skillet mixture in a casserole dish

Bake for 20 minutes

Top the casserole with remaining cheese, fried onions, & bacon pieces

Bake an additional 10 minutes
